Lakehouse lounge
This basement had many wish list items to check off to provide something for everyone of these family members. media room, dry bar with ample seating, drawer storage and refrigeration, game area for air hockey and foosball, workshop, office, fitness room, half bath and storage room. The space started with loads of potential as well as obstacles of columns and low ceiling points to work around, but the end result did not disappoint. Locating a media wall with ample set back for proper viewing distance from a large scale tv drove the initial design and pockets of space were sectioned off from there relative to existing columns, access to exterior and stair to kitchen. Combination of open and closed storage were incorporated into the media wall with specialty grass cloth wallcovering backdrop and stained v-groove ceiling accents. We wrapped the 12 foot bar with a combination of painted beadboard and panels to tie into the shaker cabinetry while brushed brass hardware ties into the picture lights accenting the media wall bookshelves. A multicolor woodsy wallcovering was used in the powder room to bring thing to life while a warm saturated greige paint was used to color drench the walls, trim, and even ceiling throughout.
