This basement began as an unfinished concrete shell. We incorporated a media room with dry bar, full bathroom, bedroom/office, fitness room, and storage room while adding in a bonus features. While designing the layout, we wanted to keep existing windows where they made the most sense and could be enjoyed which meant media room and bedroom. Those, combined with existing low ductwork drove drove much of the remaining programming while space planning. In the end, the barn door feature on the Fitness space, shiplap tv wall, mesh cabinet and quartzite with marble dry bar nook, bookcase with hidden Kids space under stairs were great special features we were able to incorporate. One of the most impactful features was opening up the stair wall to make the space feel more open complemented by newly finished solid wood stairs, metal railing detail, and herringbone patterned stair runner.
